Rosterr bot slash commands (/activity, /quota, /sessions, /claim, /leave and more)

Every slash command the Rosterr bot offers, who can use it, what it shows, and how Approve and Deny buttons on leave requests work.

Written by Liam Radford

If your workspace has added the Rosterr bot, you can use these commands in your Discord server. You must have signed in to Rosterr with Discord and be a member of the workspace. You can only do what your role allows on the website. Commands only work inside a server, and the server decides which workspace answers.

Command

What it does

Who can use it

/activity

Your time played and sessions hosted, attended and logged this period

Any member, for themselves

/quota

/goals

Any member

/allowance

/sessions [days]

Any member. The reply is public, so it can be shared in a channel

/claim

Take an open session slot (both fields suggest choices as you type)

Same rules as the website, including rank requirements for a slot

/leave start end reason

Ask for time off. Dates as YYYY-MM-DD or DD/MM/YYYY

Anyone who can create notices

/staff @member

Anyone who can view member profiles

Every reply is private, only you see it, except /sessions.

Notes

  • /quota shows quota types Rosterr can measure from activity and sessions (minutes, sessions hosted, attended, logged, and custom tasks). Anything else, or a quota limited to one session type, tells you to check the website instead of showing a wrong number.

  • /claim and /leave do exactly what the website does, with the same permissions and the same audit trail.

  • If one Discord server is linked to several workspaces, the one with the lowest ID answers.

Approve and Deny buttons

When a leave request needs review, the bot's direct message to reviewers carries Approve and Deny buttons, if Discord has been pointed at Rosterr for that bot. Pressing one:

  1. checks who pressed it and that they may review leave in this workspace,

  2. checks the request is still undecided and belongs to this workspace,

  3. does exactly what the Notices page does (records and audits the decision, takes an approved member off sessions inside their leave, tells them),

  4. replaces the buttons with "Approved by ...".

If two reviewers press at once, the second is told it is already done. If the buttons are missing, the request is sent as a plain message and you can review on the website.

If commands do not appear

  • The bot must be in the server, and the commands are registered automatically within about a minute.

  • Your server owner may have turned commands off for your channel in Discord's settings.

  • If "The application did not respond", the connection between Discord and Rosterr may not be set up. Ask an admin to check Settings > Integrations.

  • You must be a member of the Rosterr workspace and have signed in with Discord at least once.
