Recommendations: suggest staff for promotion

How staff recommend each other for a promotion, how reviewers decide, and how admins switch it on and choose which ranks can be recommended.

Written by Liam Radford

Recommendations let staff suggest colleagues who deserve a promotion. Open it from Staff > Recommendations.

Recommendations are off by default. An admin switches the feature on under Settings > Features. People also need the right permissions.

Recommend someone

  1. Choose Create Recommendation.

  2. Search for the user in the workspace. If they are not found you can search externally on Roblox.

  3. Choose the rank you are recommending them for. Only ranks the workspace allows are listed.

  4. Write the reason ("Why should this user be promoted?"). You may attach a picture (JPEG, PNG, GIF or WEBP, up to 5 MB).

  5. Choose Submit Recommendation.

You need Post recommendations.

Join in

  • Vote on a recommendation (Vote on recommendations).

  • Comment on it (Comment on recommendations).

  • Sort by votes to see the most supported first.

Decide (reviewers)

People with Manage recommendations can Approve, Reject, Archive or Move to Active, and Edit Reason. People with Delete recommendations can remove one. Approving a recommendation is a record of the decision; it does not rank anyone in Roblox. Use the logbook for that.

Tabs

Recommendations are shown in tabs by status: Active, Approved, Rejected and Archived.

Choose which ranks can be recommended (admins)

In the recommendations settings, tick which ranks users can be recommended for.

Quotas and Discord

  • Quotas can count recommendations submitted and recommendation votes.

  • New recommendations can notify the team (under Team updates).

Related articles

  • Quotas explained (types, who they apply to, and how they are completed)

  • Use the logbook: notes, warnings, promotions, demotions and terminations

  • Settings map: where everything is and who can open it
