This article is for admins. Set these up once and everyone can then create and claim sessions.
The pieces
Session roles (templates): reusable presets such as Host, Co-Host, Trainer A. You tick which ones apply when you create a session.
Categories: groups of roles, so a long list stays tidy.
Session types: a type such as Shift or Training, with its roles, its statuses and (optionally) its game.
Tags and colours: extra labels and colour coding (see "Session tags and colours").
A new workspace starts with five role templates: Host (the primary host), Co-Host (a secondary host), Trainer A, Trainer B and Trainer C.
Create or edit session roles
Open Settings > Sessions > Session Roles.
Choose Add session role and give it a name.
Choose whether it is a Primary Host, a Secondary Host or an ordinary role.
Set how many people can hold it (the number of slots).
Optionally limit it to certain Roblox group ranks, so only those ranks can claim it.
Set a weight to order the roles. A higher weight sinks lower in the list.
Save.
Deleting a role that is in use by sessions archives it instead. You can Restore it. The same applies to categories.
Import from older settings
If your workspace has older session types with their own slot definitions, Import role names from legacy slot definitions makes templates from them, and two repair buttons fix host markings and missing host records on old sessions. You only need these once, if at all.
Create a session type
Session types are made in the session creator (see "How do I create a session? (one-off and repeating)"). A type has a name, a description, an optional Game, the roles that apply, and statuses (see below).
Game
Choose the Roblox game where the session happens. Rosterr reads your group's games from Roblox. If it cannot read them it asks for the Universe ID instead.
Statuses
Statuses are labels that appear on a session as time passes, for example "Starting Soon", "In Progress", "Completed". Each status changes automatically after the time you set has passed.
Who can claim a role
Claiming follows three rules:
The person needs the claim permission for that kind of session.
If the role is limited to certain ranks, the person's rank must be one of them.
The role must have a free slot.
Limits by plan
Free workspaces can have 3 recurring session types (types that repeat on a schedule). Pro and Business are unlimited. One-off sessions are unlimited on every plan. See "Rosterr plans compared: Free, Pro and Business".
