Use the Nebula Rosterr desktop app (Mac and Windows)

What the desktop app is, how to install it, and what to do about the operating system's security warning.

Written by Liam Radford

The desktop app opens Nebula Rosterr in its own window on your computer and shows desktop notifications when something happens, such as your leave being approved. It sits in your menu bar (Mac) or system tray (Windows).

Download

Installers for Mac (Apple silicon and Intel) and Windows are provided from the Rosterr website's downloads.

Install and the security warning

The installers are not signed with a paid developer certificate, so your computer may warn you:

  • Mac: if it says the app cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer, open System Settings > Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway, or right-click the app and choose Open.

  • Windows: if SmartScreen warns you, choose More info then Run anyway.

Only download the installer from the Rosterr website.

The desktop app shows the normal Rosterr sign-in page. Sign in with Discord or Roblox as you would on the website. See "Sign in with Discord and Roblox (and link both accounts)".

Notifications

The desktop app shows notifications for your alerts while it is running. You can also use browser notifications instead of the app (see "Notifications and pings: the bell, phone alerts and what you can switch off").

Uninstall

Quit the app, then remove it like any other program. Signing out first also removes it from your registered devices.
