Phone app troubleshooting

Fixes for the most common phone app problems: sign-in, pings, missing screens and out-of-date data.

Written by Liam Radford

I cannot sign in

  • Use the code method: sign in on the website, open your account menu, choose Sign in on your phone, and scan or type the code within 90 seconds. See "Sign in on the phone app (browser sign-in and the code method)".

  • If the browser window says you are not allowed in, you are probably using a Discord or Roblox account that is not linked to your Rosterr account.

  • If you only linked Roblox, link Discord first (from the website), then start again.

I get no pings

  1. In the app, open Notifications and check it says pings are on for this phone.

  2. If it says notifications are off, turn them on for Nebula Rosterr in your phone's Settings, return to the app and press the button again.

  3. Check the category (Leave, Sessions and so on) is switched on, and send yourself a test ping.

  4. If the message says "This version of the app can't receive pings", update the app.

  5. If you signed out of the app earlier, sign in again so the phone is registered again.

I see fewer screens than my friend

Screens depend on your role, and on which features the workspace has switched on. Ask a workspace admin. See "Find your way around a workspace (the menu explained)".

The data looks old

Pull down to refresh where available, or close and reopen the app. If you switched workspaces, check you are in the right one.

I need the website instead

Everything is also on the website. Some newer features (such as the Directory filters and the calendar link) only exist there for now.

The app asks for the camera

The camera is used only if you tap Scan QR code to sign in. You can refuse and type the 12-character code instead.

I want to remove my account

See "How do I delete my Rosterr account? (and what happens to my data)".

Still stuck

Open Help and Support in the app (More tab) to chat with us. Tell us your phone model, the app version and what happens.
