What is Nebula Rosterr?

A plain-English overview of Nebula Rosterr, who it is for, and what you can do with it.

Written by Liam Radford

Nebula Rosterr is a management tool for Roblox groups that run like a company: airlines, hotels, restaurants, fire and police departments, trading firms and similar communities. It gives a group's staff one place to see who is on the team, what they are doing, when sessions are running, and how everyone is performing.

Rosterr is built and run by Nebula Technologies (a PulseNet brand). You will sometimes see it written as "Rosterr" or "Nebula Rosterr". They are the same thing.

The idea of a workspace

Everything in Rosterr happens inside a workspace. A workspace is the home of one Roblox group. When someone creates a workspace they give Rosterr their group's ID, and from then on the workspace is identified by that group. One group can only have one workspace.

Members of the Roblox group who hold a rank that has been connected to a Rosterr role appear in the workspace automatically. Each person can only see and do what their role allows. See "Roles and permissions: the basics" for the details.

What you can do in a workspace

  • Home and Wall: a landing page with widgets, and a message board for the whole team.

  • Sessions: schedule shifts, trainings and events, let staff claim roles in them, and get reminders.

  • Activity: track how long staff spend in your game, set quotas and goals, show a leaderboard and keep timesheets.

  • Leave (notices): staff ask for time off, managers approve or deny, and Rosterr takes people off sessions they can no longer attend.

  • Staff management: a Directory, the Staff page with saved views, profiles, a logbook for warnings and promotions, recommendations, departments and tasks.

  • Moderation: cases, evidence, bans and kicks for players in your game.

  • Docs and Policies: guides for your staff, and policies they must read and agree to.

  • Alliances: a record of partner groups, who represents them, and visits between you.

  • Applications: review job applications from Nebula Staffr and onboard new hires.

  • Mail: every member gets an email address and inbox inside Rosterr, plus shared inboxes such as hr@.

  • Discord: a Rosterr bot that sends staff direct messages, answers slash commands and adds sessions to Discord as events.

  • Game API: a public API so your Roblox game can send activity and talk to your workspace.

Not every workspace shows every area. Some are switched on or off by the workspace admin under Settings > Features, and some depend on your role. If you cannot see something a colleague mentions, the usual reason is that your role does not include that permission.

Where it runs

  • On the website, in any modern browser.

  • In the iPhone app and the Android app (see "Get the Nebula Rosterr phone apps (iPhone and Android)").

  • Optionally in the desktop app for Mac and Windows.

Plans

Rosterr is free to start. Pro and Business plans add more capacity and extra features. See "Rosterr plans compared: Free, Pro and Business".

Who to ask for help

  • Questions about how your own workspace is set up (who gets which role, what is switched on) go to your workspace admins.

  • Questions about Rosterr itself go to Nebula support through the chat in the Help menu, or by email to [email protected].
