How do I delete my Rosterr account? (and what happens to my data)

How to delete your account yourself, what is blocked, what is removed, and what stays for other people's history.

Written by Liam Radford

You can delete your account yourself, on the website or in the phone app. Deleting is permanent. There is no way to undo it.

Before you start: do you own a workspace?

If you are the owner of a workspace, you cannot delete your account until you have dealt with the workspace. Rosterr stops the deletion and tells you which workspaces are in the way. You have two choices:

  • Hand the workspace to someone else. Ownership changes are checked and approved by the Nebula team. In the workspace, open Settings > General and choose Request an ownership transfer.

  • Delete the workspace. Only the owner can do this. See "Transfer or delete a workspace".

This rule exists so a team's workspace, with all its staff and records, is never destroyed or handed over by one person's account deletion.

Delete your account

  1. Open Settings from your account menu (website) or the app's settings.

  2. Choose the delete option ("Permanently delete your account and its data").

  3. Confirm. You are asked twice: "This permanently deletes your account. This can't be undone." and then "Are you absolutely sure?".

You are signed out on every device straight away.

What is removed

Your own data: your devices and pings, your activity history, your leave notices, your session sign-ups, your logbook entries, your workspace memberships and roles, your rank history, calendar links, Home preferences, and your sign-in details.

What stays, anonymised

Some records belong to other people's history too, so they are kept but no longer name you. They show "Deleted User" instead:

  • Wall posts and documents you wrote.

  • Moderation cases you opened or were the subject of, and the evidence you added.

  • Session notes and session logs you wrote.

  • Logbook entries you wrote about other people.

  • Policy acknowledgements (the record that someone agreed to a policy on a date).

  • API keys you created (the keys keep working until an admin removes them).

Where you merely reviewed or reported something, your name is removed from that field.

Other things to know

  • Mail is not tied to your account in the database, so deleting your account is never blocked by mail. Messages in inboxes you could read remain in those inboxes until someone deletes them.

  • Intercom conversations with support are kept by Intercom according to its own retention. Ask support if you want them removed.

  • Deleting your account does not remove you from the Roblox group or your Discord server.

  • If you only want to leave a workspace, ask an admin to remove you from it instead.
