Write, reply and forward email (undo send, send later, drafts, formatting)

Everything about composing email in Rosterr: recipients, quoting, undo send, scheduled send, drafts, formatting and the signature.

Write a new email

Choose Write (or press c when you are not typing). Enter the recipients, subject and message, then Send.

  • To, Cc and Bcc. You can use up to 20 recipients in total across the three. Bcc addresses are stored only on your own copy.

  • Suggestions. As you type, Rosterr offers matching contacts first (starred, then most recent), then the Address list of your workspace.

  • Subject up to 200 characters, message up to 20,000 characters.

  • Attachments: drag and drop, or use the paperclip (see "Mail attachments: sizes, blocked files and virus checks").

Reply, reply all and forward

Choose Reply, Reply all or Forward. A reply quotes the message you are answering under your signature. A forward brings the original's files along. Older messages quoted under a reply are folded away behind a "•••" button.

Undo send

For 6 seconds after you press Send the email waits in the page with an Undo button. Anything still waiting when you close the page is sent straight away.

Send later

The arrow beside Send offers this morning, tomorrow morning, Monday morning, or any time up to 30 days ahead. The email is kept as a scheduled draft (Drafts shows "Scheduled for ..."). If it cannot be sent, the reason shows on the draft. Opening a scheduled draft to edit it cancels the schedule.

Drafts

Drafts are saved as you type (about a second after you stop), including recipients and files, so closing the window or browser loses nothing. Drafts are private to their author, even in a shared inbox. You can have 50 per person per inbox. Discard removes one.

Formatting

Workspaces with the newer Mail have an Aa button for bold, italic, links, lists and quotes. See "What is new in Mail (newer Mail): pictures, ranks, formatting, Not delivered and blocked senders".

Signature

Your workspace may add a signature (name, role, department and so on). Compose shows it under what you type. If the admin has not made it compulsory you can untick Include my signature.

How your email looks to the recipient

Like a help-desk reply: your Roblox picture on the left, your name in bold with the organisation in brackets, the time sent (in your own time zone), then the message and your signature. (Workspaces with the newer Mail also show your rank under your name.) The "From" name stays the inbox's ("HR @ Org" for a shared inbox). Every email is sent as formatted HTML with a plain-text version. What you write is always escaped, so it cannot inject anything.

Emails to new people also get a small grey footer saying where they came from.

Limits

See "Mail sending limits: how many people you can email each day" for how many new people you can email per day.

Keyboard shortcuts

When not typing: c write, / search. In a conversation: e archive, # trash, s star, u back.
